Drinks for occasions, Do you like a little tipple?
Here’s a few you might have over looked
Here’s a few you might have over looked
I’m not a huge drinker, in fact I’m a light weight and have been called a cheap date because I can’t keep up with my piers, but I’m ok with that lol
“But I do know what I like”
Over the years as we grow so does our pallet, it becomes matured and a little more refined, well I like to think mine has 😊
I think there are different drinks for different occasions or how your mood takes you. Here are a few suggestions for this time of year that you might have overlooked.

If I’m getting a cold or flu type symptoms the best drink to kill all germs is “Rum and Pink Cloves” take a shot glass and pour 25% of Pink Coves and top up with Rum. Down the hatch in one if you can and feel the glow, this always works for me! A little advice from my Dad years ago.

Gin has become a trendy drink these days but I’ve always enjoyed a tall glass of Gin and Tonic with lots of ice and freshly crushed limes. I am fussy over my Gin, a decent Gin at a fair price thats not oily or leaves an after taste has to be Larios. For something a little different has to be Bloom London Dry Gin. If you haven’t tried it, then it’s a must.
Occasionally a glass of bubbles is nice if chilled down and especially for Christmas morning with fresh orange juice (Buck Fizz). Lots of people rave about Prosecco, I’ve never been a fan until 3 weeks ago when I was doing my photo shoot. I had taken a bottle along as a prop and opened it up while I was there. It was truly a great glass of bubbles from Marks and Spencer crisp and clean, if you didn’t know better you would think you had paid £50.00 for the bottle. Definitely one to try this Christmas.

This time of the year I always enjoy a glass of Baileys in a balloon glass over lots of ice and I call it my anytime drink. I have tried numerous cheaper versions but find them too sweet, for me the original Baileys can’t be beaten. It’s a nice tipple when you are listening to Christmas music while wrapping your presents.
When I was living the high life I used to enjoy a glass of red wine with my meal, I would alway choose a french Fleurie. About 3 years ago I was introduced to an Argentinean Malbec – Las Maletas Mendoza, what a great glass of red that was very smooth and very reasonably priced. It’s now always on my shopping list.

I absolutely love Mulled Wine, not the ones you get pre bottled as I find them way too sweet for me. You just can’t beat a home made Mulled Wine with the little kick of glorious spices to warm you up, especially at this festive time of year. When I lived abroad at Christmas time you could buy a hot glass of Mulled wine at most places and it was great walking around the Christmas fairs sipping your Mulled wine while browsing on a cold evening.
Recipe
Optional – You can add Rum or Brandy to your Mulled wine to give it a stronger flavour before the Mulled wine is ready for simmering, just simmer for 3 minutes. Another option is to make it non-alcoholic by substituting grape juice to wine.
Method
Go out and treat yourselves to a nice bottle of something special this year and have ago at the Mulled wine it quick, it’s easy and fills your home with the smell of Christmas.
Thank you for stopping by to read this post, keep tuned for many more coming up soon.
