Beginners Ballroom update

For those of you who read my post yesterday Few extra pounds? 

My day yesterday was one of those days from hell as you would have understood if you had read my post this morning Feeling stupid

The day pretty much continued in that vain, I was late for my hair appointment and it also meant that the 15kg gas bottle I had loaded in my car last week to exchange, couldn’t be replaced at that time because they had run out, couldn’t be replaced yesterday as they were closed by the time I left the hair dressers.

All that aside, I was looking forward to my Ballroom beginners class, I didn’t know what to expect but I was very eager to attend. On a Wednesday the beginners classes are at Hasketon Village Hall, not a problem.

6pm just doing a few bits on line while waiting for a Tesco ready meal to cook with a few fresh vegetables on the side as i’m aware that I haven’t eaten all day. It’s now 6.45pm, thats ok, enough time to eat, get washed, changed and out the door.

My little dog has to go everywhere with me (she suffers with extreme panic attacks if she’s left in my house) and she’s really happy to sit in my car, in her bed and doesn’t move. I know, life is never simple! Being a good mum to my pooch, I make her a hot water bottle to keep her warm while i’m off leaning my steps.

Ok, so out the door making sure I have my keys in my hand lol, my dog is out the door, hot water bottle, a bottle of drinking water for me  and set off. I get to the Tesco roundabout and realise I forgot my dancing shoes, back home I go to collect them. It’s really foggy but not enough to encumber my driving, I still have enough time.

I hit the Woodbridge bypass and the fog is horrific! “great” anything else?, I ask myself. I arrive and walk into the hall and notice the time is 8.10pm, people are dancing and I’m thinking’ oh no!, i’m too late as they request you arrive 5 or 10 minutes early.

Taking a deep breath I walk in trying to look confident and sit down. It wasn’t  long before people started speaking to me and then I realise that the beginners class doesn’t start until 8.30pm, phew! all that panicking for nothing lol

What a plonker I am, I mean seriously, where the hell has my head been all day?

Beginners Ballroom Dance Classes

Omg, I absolutely loved it! The teachers are very friendly and accommodating and the people attending were extremely friendly which was fantastic for me, especially as I was on my own. Obviously attending by myself meant I didn’t  have a dance partner, Graham one of the teachers paired with me and he is a very strong leader. Within 30 minutes and learning my left from my right foot, he had me waltzing around the room. Of course there’s along way to go but I was doing what everybody else was doing. Absolutely amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my class.

Whats needed is a lot more men to take part!

So come on you gents, dance your way fit, its great fun and everybody is really friendly. Just take a deep breath and try it out.

Can I count on some of you to take the plunge? I hope so – see you Monday evening at Kesgrave High School starting at 7pm.

Why not come down for one class, it only costs £7.00 and see if you like it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained 😀
