Good morning

It was no joke when they said the temperature would drop today, Brrr it’s definitely a bit fresher this morning and very windy. What to post today, Music I thought. You all know i’m a great lover of music of all genres. There are some songs that have touched me in some way and take me on a journey so I thought I would post some music videos, some you may not have listened to before.

Let me know what you think and if they grab you too…

Ok a little history about each song you will hear through a music video

In the arms of an Angel sung by Sarah Mclachlan. I first heard this song in the hit movie “City of Angel” staring Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan. The song instantly touched me and has become one of my all time favourites ever since.

I would think everyone has heard of Sarah Mclachlan, Born 28/01/1968. A Canadian singer-songwriter known for emotional ballads and mezzo soprano vocal range.

Angel was inspired by Jonathan Melvoin was the keyboardist for the Smashing Pumpkins before his death after a heroin overdose in 1996.

Mentally and physically drained from being on the road for nearly 2 years took some needed time out. Reading an article in Rolling Stone about the Smashing Pumpkins keyboard player who had OD’ed in a hotel room. Sarah said “The story shook me because although I have never done hard drugs like that, I felt a flood of empathy for him and that feeling of being lost and lonely and desperately searching for some kind of release.”

McLachlan said she wrote “that song in two days.”

“Angel” was released in 1998 and landed on the top 5 in the Billboard charts. It was one of the most successful songs of that year.

This is not the official music video but this video I have chosen has more going on and still has Sarah Mclachlans vocals.

Little Big Town – Bring it on home to me, an American country music band formed in 1998 with their style of four-part vocal harmonies

Bring it on Home to Me was released, January 2006 as the second single from their album The Road to Here. This was the band’s highest charting single at the time with the video peaking No1 for 2 weeks. Written by Greg Bieck, Tyler Hayes Bieck and Wayne Kirkpartick

This song was brought to my attention by an American client of mine back in 2015, there is a story there but I will save that for another day. The words pulled me in and made me think, wow, if only…

I have many more to share with you and I will but, I think 2 is enough for today. Would you like to share one of your favourite songs? Why not email me your song and I will do the rest.

Time to leave you all in peace

Take care of you and yours as always
