“A midst the pandemic”

Good morning people,

Wow wasn’t it windy yesterday, very strange weather and with today being similar. My little dog is scared of huge gusts of wind bless her. At least we have beautiful blue sky’s and sunshine today.

I don’t know about you but my isolation has been testing as you would have read from my previous post Sue’s Isolation.

I have since, managed to do the ironing, I’ve resolved my fingernail issue although very difficult when you don’t know what your doing and managed to sort my hair regrowth out with a dye from Tesco. It looks ok, not too bad even though I say it myself, lol…

I’ve found some tins of paint in my shed left over from my lounge, enough to paint my small bathroom and freshen it up a little. For now though, I’m thinking about it as apposed to doing it. When i’m feel a bit better, I will tackle it and maybe even take a few cheeky pics in the process, just for you 😊

Spirits aren’t great, especially when your clients wish to book appointments with you but, in current climate, it’s not possible when you see the East still climbing. They have all had enough of putting their lives on hold as we all have but, I ask them please, to hang on a little longer…

Since the the 4th April, I’ve kept a journal on the status of my health. I think you are all aware I have Angina & stress along with other things lol, diagnosed when I lived in Spain years ago.

My chest pains etc comes and goes as it has always done but, on the 4th April and after 3 chest pain episodes in one day, I thought I would write it down just to keep a note for myself really.

I don’t know about you, sometimes deciding whether something happened on a Monday or a Wednesday can be difficult if not written down, especially when your head is full of other things you think are more important at the time.

I’m a great believer that if you listen to your body, it normal tells you when something needs attention. I think I had become somewhat complacent with my condition as if it’s a normal thing to have some kind of pain regularly.

I don’t moan and pretty much just get on with it, I never run to the doctors every time I have a pain, it’s just not me and something I wouldn’t do.

It wasn’t until Friday morning after having a terrible night of pain and especially in my back which continued constantly that I decided to call the doctors and ask if a doctor could call me back.

As I sat in my kitchen waiting, I thought it’s probably a good idea to check my entries i’ve made since the 4th. I was astonished to see how many entries I had made and then began to question if all were related.

The phone rings and it’s the Doctor so, I explain what’s been going on and he advises me to take paracetamol for my back and to go straight to A&E when and if I get another pain. “oh, ok”, I said and that was that.

10 minutes later my phone rings again and it’s the doctor, can you go to Ipswich hospital now, to the pathology lab and have your blood taken. “Yes but why”? I asked, “because it’s possible you have a blood clot”…. Err ok, “and then later go to Kesgrave medical centre where they will have your results”, Err ok…

So, this is a bit scary going into Ipswich hospital a midst the pandemic, hardly anybody about and you tell yourself “don’t touch anything”. The ladies taking blood were all in PPE which is great news for them and I guess me. She said this is marked urgent so the results will be back by the time you see the doctor. Scared and very grateful as I know all the medical staff are stretched and the last thing they need is me on top of all this crisis.

I arrived at the doctors in Kesgrave, never having been there before, ring the bell and wait to be answered. All staff again wearing PPE, the doctor I saw was fantastic and very thorough but, because of my symptoms, I have now been referred to the chest pain clinic, again at Ipswich hospital.

Apparently the appointment will come through quickly, this is true, I now have my appointment for Thursday.

I find  myself asking, of all the times for my situation to come too ahead, why does it have to be during a pandemic?

My parents have always said “I never do things by halves” and every path throughout my life has been fraught with one thing or another.

So, another chapter in my life will now unfold, surly there can’t be anymore downturns in my life, can there?

Keep smiling and think positive is the motto, the law of averages says,  “it must be my time for some good news”….

I”m now off to make some home made flapjack, the gooey type is the best just like my aunty used to make… yummy! I hope you all have a good day and find something interesting to do to fill your time.

Take care of you and yours

Sue x
