Have you every been to a Soul Funk & Disco night, “Thank Funk it’s Friday” held by Trinity Park Events Ltd with DJ Rossi-P? If you haven’t and your a love music and dancing, then I can assure you, you are definitely missing out!

About 6 weeks ago and only by chance, I came across “Thank Funk it’s Friday”. A Soul Funk & Disco night featuring DJ Rossi-P and being held at Trinity Park, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich. Loving this type of music, I didn’t hesitate and bought a couple of tickets for the next event being held on Friday 13th March. I had no idea when I purchased the tickets who would accompany me, Luckily, a male colleague and dear friend who also loves music stepped up. (There is nothing worse than attending this type of event as a single lady).

Both of us didn’t know what to expect and on our drive there, we both said “If it’s full of 18yr olds we will have a drink and leave”.

With our glad rags on and our E-Tickets firmly in hand we approached the venue, a very easy process, our tickets were scanned and in we went. To our surprise and delight the venue was full of people of all ages and predominantly 40 plus. All the great sounds were pumping out and the lighting was just so. Our first port of call was to buy a drink from the licensed bar, Gin and tonic and a pint or cider coming to 9 pound something, I can’t remember exactly but I thought it was fairly priced.

Large linen covered circular tables, seating 12 were around the dance floor and we chose a table close to the dance floor with a few seats available. When we arrive at about 8pm the venue was already fairly full and people were dancing.

We managed to have a couple of sips of our drinks until our feet couldn’t resist the temptation of the sounds and calling us to the dance floor. I danced and I danced, all night as if my life depended on it. I thought I was 18 again, the music and atmosphere was just great!

Both ladies and gents WC’s were clean and offering hand sanitising gel for those who wished to use it.

For those of you who smoke, facilities were available at the front entrance and side door of the venue.

Plenty of flood lit parking close to the entrance.

Summary

Great sounds mixed by Rossi-P  that take you back to the days of the First Floor Club and the Tartan House where we all danced the night away and had fun. A great venue and a fantastic night out by Thank Funk it’s Friday – Trinity Park Events Ltd.

If you feel you have missed out don’t worry Thank Funk it’s Friday with DJ Rossi-P have two more events booked this year at Trinity Park. Sadly, I won’t be able to attend the next one but I will be booking tickets for October and I can’t wait!
