Hi Sue,
I thought I would help you out with a question for your blog, Sue’s Agony Posts, oh also can I just say that I enjoy your blog very much and keep up the good work!
All we seem to hear at the moment is covid this and covid that and it’s got me thinking. I’m a smoker of 30 years and to be honest with what I hear on a daily basis, that the lungs are hugely effected through phenomena on enormous scale. I have been thinking, I need to stop smoking. I have stopped once or twice over the years but through stressful business deals, I find myself always reaching for a cigarette again and so the cycle continues.
Question
My question is, in these trying times do you know of any solution that might help to fill the void of a cigarette. I know of all the obvious things like patches, gum and vapour’s and the pills on offer from the doctors but I’m looking for something different. I wondered if you might be able to offer some helpful alternatives?
Thanks Sue for any suggestions you might have,
All the best Steve
Answer
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question and lovely comments regarding my Blog. I’m always happy to know if i’m on the right tract for my readers.
Yes, I understand your concerns about covid-19 and the effects that smoking will have on your lungs if you catch this horrible virus. I think most definitely to give yourself a fighting chance against this virus you must try and stop smoking.
It just so happens, I came across an article the other day which boasts about its success over the years helping many people to quit smoking permanently. I didn’t know this existed and hadn’t heard of this before hence reading it. It’s taken me some time to find it again so apologies for the late response.
Ok, from what I understand, most smokers give up trying to quit about 3 months in because they find it difficult to replace the hand to mouth action thats become the normal for a smoker. As I understand it, this product called harmless cigarette is exactly that and has helped thousands of people over the years to successfully stop smoking. This harmless cigarette does not contain any nicotine for those cravings that most quitters will experience in the first days. I would suggest wearing a nicotine patch for a few days alongside the harmless cigarette then you will have all areas covered. Here is a link to the official website in the USA harmlesscigarette.com so you can read all about them and if you decide to purchase from the uk here is a link to a page selling and supplying here in the uk on amazon.co.uk
There are many groups on line to help to quit smoking, this is good support for some but, I don’t believe the success is huge as a lot of people return to smoking again once life gets in the way of regular chatting.
Some people swear by hypnoses and on a one to one basis but this could be successful bust isn’t cheap. I have found an app which you can download for a small fee and with very good reviews called “Easy Stop Smoking” by Darren Marks. He is a professional hypnotherapist and has been in practice, in London since 1997. The aim with this app is to make you feel as if you are having a one to one session of hypnoses with Darren Marks.
Steve, I hope i’ve managed to find you some different options for stopping smoking and good luck on your journey, I’m sure armed with the right things for you, you will succeed. Good Luck!

My advise offered is for guidance purposes only
On a serious note, if I can’t offer you an answer, but if needed, I will try to put you in touch with the correct people who may be able to help.
