The Foreskin

The Foreskin is one of the most natural things on a mans body and its there to protect the head of your penis and help to give pleasure.

Foreskins should be free to move up and down and when aroused, self made secretion lubricates this area making the movement of the foreskin more pleasurable.

When a boy is born, it’s the parents responsibility when bathing the child to gently cleaning this area. The foreskin will naturally loosen as the child grows so eventually the foreskin can be pulled back and cleaned.

Sometimes this needs time and possibly a few year for the foreskin to loosen enough so it will slide back naturally. Normally the foreskin will have loosened by the age of 10 naturally enabling easy movement.

In the few cases where a parent can not slide the foreskin back to clean the area, medical intervention maybe necessary.

If left untreated, infection may creep in and in extreme cases, a doctor will recommend circumcision.

For the lucky few, It’s possible that infection doesn’t occur and a parent for whatever reason, doesn’t seek a doctors opinion on the child’s lack of movement of the foreskin ,so it becomes left in that position.

As a boy grows into a young man, his cleanliness and the movement of his foreskin is his responsibility.

As young men grow, they experiment and chat with their peers as well as use google for information. They will start to realise there foreskin is a little different  i.e it doesn’t slide back to expose the head of the penis.

Now with his new knowledge, he should consult a doctor as to what interventions are available to him. Doctors may prescribe steroid creams to help loosen the foreskin.

If all avenues fail, a small procedure known as circumcision will be offered to remove the foreskin. Once healed, your penis head will be hugely sensitive to touch but will eventually calm down to normal levels.

Many grown men have chosen not to seek a doctors opinion because they don’t know better or because of embarrassment so no intervention has happened.

Some men are still fairly naive and believe that it’s normal that their foreskin doesn’t slide back because it never has, sadly this isn’t the case and should be sorted.

From a hygiene perspective 

Over time, because the foreskin hasn’t been pulled back to clean, small gravely lumps may appear, more so to the touch than the eye.

This will be a build up of urine, seamen and smegma building up under the ridge of the head of your penis and also maybe be smelly. You probably won’t be aware of the smell because it’s been there for years and possibly all your life.

If you are lucky, this won’t cause discomfort or an infection but it should definitely be addressed.

From a pleasurable perspective 

Having a foreskin that slides back and forth allowing the head of the penis to be visible is sensitive to the touch. Your sexual pleasures will become more enhanced and gratifying.

Your partner will also benefit from seeing and enjoying your penis without making excuse because it’s a bit whiffy or lumpy.
