Do you have the orange peel affect?

Good morning readers,

This topic has brought many to tears with it’s ugly appearance, some people suffer more acutely than others but never the less, 80% women and 30% of men suffer and deal with it day in and day out.

Here’s a few facts for you on the orange peel affect and maybe, I can help you on your journey to reduce the stubbornness of the dimpled appearance we loathe with a vengeance. After all, and as people, we are our own worst enemies and all stride in someway to look and feel better about ourselves.

Do you have the orange peel effect?

The orange peel effect is commonly used to relate to the condition called cellulite.

More commonly found in ladies around the buttocks, thighs and stomach but there are a fair amount of  men out there who suffer with this problem too, it’s just not readily seen as men wear trousers or long shorts.

Years ago, cellulite was used at targeting people who gained a few extra pounds here and there but thats not the case. You can find degrees of cellulite even on the fittest and leanest of people.

So what is cellulite in layman’s terms?

You would be right in thinking it’s fat. It’s deposits of fat that we all have but in some cases these fat deposits build up in the easy to reach areas of our bodies.

It’s thought the fibrous cords that anchor the skin to the muscle with the layer of fat laying between, plays a huge part in causing cellulite. The structure of the fibrous cords in women run somewhat parallel and with men, they are of a criss-cross fashion. This could explain why cellulite is more prominent in women.

As the fat cells accumulate and swell, they push up against the skin and our tough fibrous cords pull down thus causing the skins surface to look uneven and causing the dimpled effect we hate call orange peel.

Additionally, hormonal factors can play a large role in the development of cellulite. Genetics determine skin structure, skin texture and your body type. Other factors to know are, weight and muscle tone can affect whether you have cellulite, although as I previously mentioned, very fit people can have it.

What can I do about my cellulite?

Many companies have jumped on the band wagon telling you to use this cream/lotion or to try certain treatments all at absorbent prices, and because we are so desperately unhappy with our condition many find themselves spending 100’s and even thousands of pounds on treatments, all in the hope of receiving a quick fix solution.

I’m sorry to say, there is NO quick fix to the removal of cellulite and in a lot of cases you will never remove all. The good news is, with certain techniques through a course of lymphatic massage treatments, a smother and firmer look can be achieved.

How often should you massage cellulite?

I would recommend the lymphatic massage treatment to be executed three times a week for three weeks then reducing to twice a week until you start to see improvement, thereafter, once a week and then monthly to maintain.

The Cellulite massage is pinpointed at the affected areas, deep tissue movements of wring and pinching to mention a couple are designed to help loosen the fat and get the blood circulating to these areas so the body can start to beak down unwanted fat and dispose of through the lymphatic system.

Initially, this treatment can be uncomfortable but as your session continues, the discomfort will diminish and you will become relaxed.

How much will it cost me?

I am pleased to say not too much, I’ve tried to keep costs low especially in our economic climate so this treatment is reachable for all. Each session will be a minimum of 45mins. The treatment will start with the troubled areas being brushed, then the use of warm unrefined organic coconut oil for its immense healing properties and then your massage will commence on your troublesome areas.

If you decide to take the full course of treatment 3 times per week for 3 weeks followed by twice a week reducing to 1 time per month for maintenance, the rate will be

1st Week

  • 1st Session £52.
  • 2nd Session £52.
