Stocking Filler tips & Lockdown

Hello readers,

It’s Saturday morning again and its miserable here in Suffolk. We have that horrible grey sky wind and we’ve had rain this morning. Oh how I really miss the Spanish blue sky on days like this!

Yesterday I thought I would drive the few extra miles and grab a Costa at Ransoms just for something to do really. The roads were full of traffic, you wouldn’t think we’re supposed to be in lockdown.

On my way back, to kill some more time, yes I was bored and needed to see humans. I stopped at Waitrose to pick up some crusty bread for tea but I saw some Italian soft nougat so in my basket it went lol. Then I stopped at the B&M store, I have never been there before and again it was packed with people.

I was pleasantly surprised at there stock ranging from food products to home-wear and plenty of gifts to choose from with very good prices. I picked up a few bits for stocking fillers 4 x packs of microwave popcorn for £1.00., kids love a bowl of popcorn. Also I picked up a couple of boxes of 25 led crystal effect battery lights at only £4.99, these are great especially if you want to do some craft work.

The B&M store is a great place to pick up a bargain and ideal for stocking fillers!

Lockdown

Since we’ve been supposedly in lockdown, I say supposedly because you would never know. Most places are open and with a bit of thought you can pickup what ever you want and to mentioned the amount of people out and about…. It seems as if a very small proportion of businesses are closed which isn’t fair.

Why does a jewellery store have to close but other stores selling jewellery are allowed to remain open? and this is common across all industries. Take my massage industry, why is a chiropractors allowed to work and i’m not? It doesn’t make any sense to me.

it’s very confusing for the general public. I’m using the words confusing as thats my hope and not that people are being bloody minded. Since the 5th November I have had to turn away an extraordinary amount of clients new and old. When I explain that it’s illegal for me to work they reply with “oh but can’t you just squeeze me in” of course, I reply with NO sorry I can’t.

I don’t have all the answers but it does seem that this “lockdown” is a bit of a joke. It’s definitely NOT a lockdown!

What are your thoughts on our supposed Lockdown?
